STEPHEN BUFTON MEMORIAL EDUCATION FUND
Local chapters of the American Business Women's Association are proving scholarship opportunities. Please click on the flyers for more information. ABWA National also offers several scholarships through SBMEF and those are listed below as well.
Scholarships funded by each chapter are provided by the Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund (SBMEF). SBMEF provides educational grants and scholarships to women pursuing post-secondary educational goals as well as ongoing professional development.
To be eligible for a SBMEF scholarship, applicants must be female, a citizen of the United States, enrolled in a licensed, accredited or state-approved institution, and meet other eligibility criteria set by individual chapters.
The Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund has awarded over $17,000,000 of scholarships since 1953.
GREATER OAKLAND CHARTER CHAPTER
$2,000 Impact Scholarship
The Greater Oakland Charter Chapter, ABWA is looking for eligible applicants to sponsor for consideration of two $2,000 Impact Scholarships from the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund of the American Business Women's Association.
Applicant must be seeking a baccalaureate degree or higher.
The applicant’s primary (home) residence must be in Michigan

NOVI OAKS CHARTER CHAPTER
$2,000 Impact Scholarship
The Novi Oaks Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association is offering two $2,000 Impact Scholarships
Applicant must be seeking a baccalaureate degree or higher, also a Michigan permanent resident attending any College or University authorized to confer degrees at the Baccalaureate level or higher.

TIPACON CHARTER CHAPTER
$2,000 Outright Grant
ABWA Tipacon Charter Chapter is looking for eligible applicants to sponsor for consideration of a $2,000 Outright Grant (ORG) from the Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund (SBMEF) of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA).
The applicant’s educational institution must be licensed, accredited, or state approved. A U.S. college or university that offers an associate’s degree only, such as a community college or technical/vocation school, is NOT eligible for this scholarship.

NORTHEAST SUNRISE CHARTER CHAPTER
$2,000 Impact Scholarship
The Northeast Sunrise Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) offers a scholarship worth $2,000 funded through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund to a deserving area student.
Applicants must be citizens of the United States; residents of AuSable, East Tawas, Glennie, Greenbush, Hale, Harrisville, Lincoln, National City, Oscoda, or Tawas City in Michigan entering a qualifying higher education institution in August/September of 2021.
